As part of the "Bordeaux Landscapes 2017" cycle, La Cité du Vin invites you to get into the swing of the Tour de France 2017. Watch the live transmission of 6 key stages of the Tour de France and taste wines from vineyards crossed by the peloton.

On the program

Saturday 1st July at 6pm: Stage 1: First Stage Dusseldorf

  • 6pm: live transmission of the day’s stage - estimated arrival at 6.43pm
  • 7pm: tasting of Rhine wines

The city of Dusseldorf on the banks of the Rhine will be the starting point for the wine road that extends to the south. Linger for a while in the Moselle and Nahe vineyards before taking the road again towards the neighbouring French provinces.

Friday 7 July at 4.30pm: Stage 7: Troyes / Nuits-Saint-Georges

Welcome to the Côte de Nuits. This prestigious Burgundy vineyard is sometimes called the ‘Champs-Elysées of Burgundy’, due to the international fame of its fine wines and the straight line traced by its wine route. Hill after hill, the variety of soils give rise to wines of unique character, long life and a beautiful deep colour. In the land of red wine where Pinot Noir is king, discover two of its flagship appellations: Marsannay and Gevrey Chambertin, along with a more intimate Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Chardonnay.

Sunday 23 July at 6.30pm: Stage 21: Arrival of the Tour de France Montgeron / Paris Champs-Élysées

What better way to celebrate the arrival of the cyclists on the Champs-Elysées than with champagne? Did you know champagne is produced from white and black grapes? Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier are used to make these world-famous wines! Synonymous with French elegance and celebration, champagne will share its sparkle with the winners, the losers and the jubilant crowds!

Paysages Bordeaux 2017

The arrival of the LGV high-speed train line on 2 July 2017 is a decisive moment in the expansion of the city of Bordeaux.

To celebrate this historic moment, the City of Bordeaux and Bordeaux Métropole have put together Bordeaux Landscapes 2017: an exceptional cultural cycle, drawing on the major operators of the region and the high points of the local cultural calendar (Street-Art season #2, L’Eté Métropolitain [City Summer], Ocean Climax, AGORA,  FAB #2…). The cornerstone of the project: AGORA, the 7th Biennial of Architecture, Town Planning and Design (15 to 25 September), with a programme focusing on ‘landscapes’ and curated by Bas Smets.

From 25 June to 25 October, some one hundred artistic offers covering all fields of creation will roll out their unique ‘landscapes’, fuelled by the talents of the local, national and international scene.
