Porto "Guest Wine Region" for the next temporary exhibition in 2018
Every autumn, the Fondation pour la Culture et les Civilisations du Vin offers a winemaking territory (a region or a country) the chance to present a “Guest Wine Region”. The goal is to introduce the public to a winemaking region from a cultural and civilisation perspective, in an original and attractive exhibition accompanied by a number of cultural events. In 2017, Georgia, the Cradle of Viticulture, was showcased at La Cité du Vin.
Porto: Guest Wine Region
For its second temporary “Guest Wine Region” exhibition, La Cité du Vin will be showcasing the region of Porto, the first Protected Designation of Origin in the world. Sylvie Cazes, President of the Fondation pour la Culture et les Civilisations du Vin, and Ricardo Valente, Porto City Councillor, recently signed a framework agreement for the upcoming exhibition.
From 5 October 2018 until 6 January 2019, come and discover the region and landscapes of Alto Douro, part of the UNESCO World Heritage List for Cultural Landscapes.
