Presentation
A privileged exchange with an iconic figure of the world of wine, the Great Interviews present the stories of those who have left their mark on the history of wine culture.
This encounter is a unique moment to hear from the great visionary, literature enthusiast and confirmed humanist Michel Chapoutier. He will tell us about his commitment to Rhone winemaking.
Since the 80s, Michel Chapoutier has been running the family business M. Chapoutier, which has gradually expanded and diversified in the heart of the best terroirs of the Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint Joseph, Ardèche, Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Provence, Banyuls and Roussillon appellations. Today it owns the largest estate in Hermitage.
Michel Chapoutier is a dynamic man and a fervent defender of terroir. He converted the entire estate to biodynamic cultivation in 1991. He is also president of the Rhone Valley wine association. He is respectful of people and the Earth, and has launched associative projects such as "Les Vendanges du Cœur" to promote bone marrow donations. He was also the first to produce the labels of his wines in Braille.
