[CANCELLED]Porto wine, eternity in a bottle
Start : 7 pm
Duration : 1hr15
'Les Vendanges du Savoir’ is a series of events showcasing researchers who report on their work on vine and wine related subjects and discuss it with the general public.
Port wine is distributed all over the world, and France is its top export country. Quality is not always the primary criteria for the wines marketed, which are often drunk young (3-5 years). What makes this sweet, high-alcohol wine so special is its remarkable ageing potential (40 years or even longer). Other than colour (white, red, rosé), the key differentiating factor in the style of port is the extent to which oxygen is present during the ageing process.
We take a sensory diversity approach to tawny ports (brick red) and ruby ports (red), both of which have exceptional ageing potential. Which will you choose?
