Presentation

Lynch, Kirwan, Barton and Phelan, just to name a few, are among the oldest families in the Médoc of Irish descent. Their ancestors, most of whom were Catholics, fled their native land towards the end of the 17th century to escape religious persecution. Most of them arrived in Europe to join the French armed forces, while others became involved in the wine industry and bought properties in the Médoc, moving from brokerage to viticulture. This resulted in the their own and the Médoc's fortune.

To mark the release of the latest album "Songs from the Fever Ship" by the Irish band, Eamonn Dowd and the Racketeers, the Cité du Vin has decided to reveal this unique part of the Médoc's great history in viticulture.

The performance will be followed by a tasting of a glass of wine.
