Founding members
The Foundation for wine culture and civilisations was born of a collaboration between the City of Bordeaux, the Bordeaux Wine Council (CIVB) and Crédit Agricole Aquitaine.
These three key players in the region combined their ambition and potential to act within this project, having been convinced that wine is a pillar of our societies’ culture and heritage.
The Foundation for wine culture and civilisations has also received support from American foundation the Clarence and Anne Dillon Dunwalke Trust and from HRH Prince Robert of Luxembourg.

The aim of the Foundation for wine culture and civilisations is to make wine’s cultural, universal and living heritage accessible to as many people as possible.
In order to achieve this, the Foundation is responsible for operating and developing Cité du Vin. Our teams are working daily to ensure that Cité du Vin excels on every level.
