La Cité du Vin honoured for its international profile
At the first ever Wine Tourism Trophies on Wednesday 29 March, La Cité du Vin was awarded the Special Jury Prize for its international profile.
This honour is bestowed by Terre de Vins magazine and stakeholders in the winemaking and wine tourism sectors as part of Atout France’s Wine Tourism cluster, and aims to showcase those who are determinedly working to establish strong wine tourism services tailored to the wishes of customers from France and abroad.
La Cité du Vin and more than 350 other submissions were studied, and three Special Jury Prizes, nine Gold Medals, nine Silver Medals and nine Bronze Medals were awarded.

- 38% visitors from abroad
- 180 different nationalities
With its digital guide forming part of a visit to the permanent exhibition and available in eight languages (French, English, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch, Chinese, Japanese), La Cité du Vin is demonstrating its desire to make the universal living heritage of wine accessible to as many people as possible whilst offering a new, innovative approach.
