ANSWER TO THE #CULTUREVIN QUESTION
You were asked "How many bubbles are there in a glass of 10cl of champagne?" The answer was of course 11 million! If we consider that the average diameter of a bubble is 0.5 millimetres and that the wine contains about 12g of CO2 per litre, the calculation shows that a glass of 10 centilitres contains about 11 million bubbles. This figure is purely theoretical, however, as almost 80% of the CO2 escapes from the surface of the glass without generating bubbles.
